What a weekend! I was able to surprise Heath with box seats to the NASCAR race at the Kansas Speedway. And he was VERY surprised. I got the tickets Thursday from a United Way silent auction through my work. I took them home and had Heath sit with his eyes closed. I put the ticket lanyard and the hat on him, and had him open his eyes. He didn’t realize at first exactly what they were, but once he did, he was so EXCITED! Heath is a big time NASCAR fan, and has never been to a race. The tickets are usually astronomically priced, so this was a great way for us to get the tickets, and the money I did spend went to charity. A WIN WIN!
I thought Chiefs tailgating was intense! NASCAR tailgating is CRAZY! These are serious tailgaters. And speaking of the Chiefs, they crushed the Broncos 33-19. I think it may be our first win of the season, too. I guess we finally played a team we could beat! So the day was great all around!
We got these headsets so we could hear the drivers and the announcers. Was very very neat.
This was our view from our seat. We were right in the middle. I would refer to it as the 50 yard line.
Saturday, Heath did an 11 mile bike race/ride in Robinson, Kansas. He did a great job. I sat on the sidelines with Walker.
