Grant | 17 months

Grant has been having a lot of fun this summer so far.

We go on a walk everyday. Probably his most favorite thing to do. He loves kicking back and enjoying the scenery. I think he is going to be a true outdoors-man. He seems to be the happiest outside. Walks are perfect for our crew. Grant is happy, Violet is content, the dogs are getting exercise (which is so necessary for my hyper lab), and I am getting exercise to help drop my baby weight. Once we are home, everyone seems to go crazy! Grant tries to get into everything possible, Violet wants to be held, and the dogs are constantly under my feet. But when we are walking everyone is at peace. Well, except when there is another dog, then Walker goes bizerk. I honestly am not sure what all those people meant by a lab calming down by 2 years. I am still waiting for my gentle and well behaved lab.

Grant has also been getting to do lots of activities this summer. He has a lot more friends now, and so there is always something planned for him to do. This week we went to Crown Center to play in the fountains, eat lunch at Fritz’s, which you are served your food via train, and then to play at the Clifford exhibit.

I didn’t know how Grant would do with the fountains. I wasn’t sure if he would want to play in them or not. But, after he warmed up, he had a blast!

I ended up having to drag him kicking and screaming away from them.

Violet | 3.5 months

Violet has been perfecting her roll over.

She has been also giving us lots of smiles and giggles. Her favorite phrase is “Goo-Goo-Ga-Ga” She cracks up when we say that to her. She just loves it when we speak her language.
